No outside comms means Q did not post anywhere besides the arcane sites he posted on serially (4chan, 8chan, then finally 8kun).

In this way Q ingeniously informed the world that anyone and everyone PRETENDING to be Q and posting on other websites is automatically an impostor. And if they tried to post as Q on 8kun, then the trip code would not match the real Q trip code, so they would be instantly discovered and mercilessly ridiculed.
