Yeah I think Trump is playing stupid on this one so he will be able to act shocked later.

Presidents kind of have to play along with the overall narrative on a lot of stuff. Like when Trump recognizes 9/11, he does it in the mainstream, normal way. He doesn’t shout “Building 7! Building 7!” in the middle of his speech honoring those who died.
