Two ways to look at this:
Congressman Devin Nunes is a Ranking Member of the House Intelligence Committee. You would think he would be MORE important left in that position for the time being. This may be a signal that the House Intelligence Committee might not be very important after January.
Nunes represents California’s 22nd congressional district, which is parts of Fresno and Tulare counties in central California. Ordinarily, it's a pretty competitive election, which Nunes would win. Obviously, they believe the 2022 election will go Republican and they already have a strong replacement candidate in the works.
