The head of a digital mortgage lender is getting heat after firing hundreds of workers on Zoom.
Vishal Garg, the CEO of Better.com, asked more than 900 employees to join him on a Zoom call, then told them their jobs were being terminated immediately. The call lasted less than three minutes and comes less than four weeks before Christmas.
A total of 9% of the company’s workforce was laid off, including the company’s entire diversity, equity and inclusion recruiting team.
According to Fortune Magazine, the CEO later accused the employees of “stealing” from their colleagues and customers by only working two hours a day.
The laid-off employees will get severance pay and benefits.
Last week, Better.com received $750 million in cash as part of a deal with Softbank, a (((multinational))) conglomerate.
Way to be open minded and judging not.
Would you honestly sit on your ass if you were given $1000/month? I know very few who would.
No free ride because there is work to be done... It takes work for there to be food and house. The ride must not depend on whether or not the fed tells us we're running out of inches.
You've got millions sitting on their asses drawing way less than a $1000 a month right now.
Where do you suppose the government is going to get that "free" $1000 a month per person? Print it? Printing money is stealing the life savings of those that work to save.
What the hell do you not understand about there is no free ride?
Money is currently made out of thin air by the central banks, and through by fractional lending by the rest of the banks. Taxes are a farce.
You cant live on two hundred something a week
