I'll have to check those out! My mom read the Hobbit to me and my sister as kids and I ended up reading the LOTR books with my mom as the movies were coming out. The movies are just about a word for word live action remake of the books. Highly recommend. 10/10. The Hobbit has a more general fantasy feel but the book also did and wasn't as high stakes as the lotr storyline. Definitely not as good as the LOTR trilogy but still good I think. Not as faithful to the book but I really enjoyed the portrayal of the characters. If you watch lotr sometime I would recommend the extended cuts. WAYYYYY more scenes that are in the books especially return of the king.... That was hands down the best extended cut in the trilogy. Totally worth 4.5 hours lol
Honestly, I don't think Lucas would have gotten so much shit about those if he had just sucked up his pride and made the theatrical release available when people asked for it.
