“The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again.”
The understanding that the Wheel is turned not by nature, but by an invisible hand, controlling the world from the shadows for millennia, is a tough pill to swallow (it's color is red).
I'm not sure how many times this Wheel has turned, but the last major turning (destruction of an advanced society) appears to have happened about 13,000 years ago. There is a fair bit of evidence this society was far beyond ours in many ways (technologically, as well as others). I would have thought that was completely cray cray not that long ago. Now that I am willing to look at the evidence, it is all over the place. This is not humanities first rodeo. We have just been taught to forget all the lessons of the past.
Can't say I disagree with this possibility. I do, however wonder why the 'Tartarian Civilization' (the real one... along with their advancements) were quite literally wiped from the history books. Wait nevermind, screw the Theosophical Rosicrucian Freemasonic Zionical Elder Fallen Angels!
The foremost reason any plague or pandemic spreads is due to lack of public sanitation, hygiene, and nutrition. These three factors relate directly to the health of our immune systems. Establishing the infrastructure for treated potable water and treated sanitation, along with good nutrition makes the plague and pandemics impossible in today's society. When fecal matter contaminates untreated public drinking supplies, and there is widespread poor nutrition that taxes the immune systems of so many, this is when the spread of disease becomes perilous.
