Who is to say Obama didn't do that because Flynn was DS and Obama wanted to lure Trump into trusting Flynn knowing Trump would do the opposite of what he said?

Who knows. Flynn suffered and Trump kept silent and distant for a while even though a lot of supporters gave Trump hell for that.
