This cough has been an issue for years and years. Doxy basically takes it away but I'm wondering if it's safe to keep taking, making it a daily thing.

I would nebulize 3-6% hydrogen peroxide 2-3 times per day and watch what you cough up.
as discussed in this thread: https://greatawakening.win/p/140cSGMdx3/nebulizer-/
drinking mullein tea while curing your lung issue will help greatly as well, get some

Agreed
Doxy has a drying effect. And it's cheap and available OTC as a vet medicine. Other than that it seems inappropriate to me. You might need it as an antibiotic someday. If you just started and got relief maybe you do need an antibiotic, but a little more knowledge about the infection might be a better way to go. Are you taking lisinopril or another ACE inhibitor, perchance? They tend to cause a persistent dry cough.
Only natural stuff like ACV. I would think the fact that they already use acv and lemon daily would help with the acid reflux that others were mentioning.
Why not consult a physician for medical needs? Asking random people on the internet for medical advise may not be the best way to go about this.
Ummmm, credible doctors are hard to find right now.
I agree trust in the medical community is pretty low but I really don't think getting medical advice from an internet message board is a good way to go.
are you being sarcastic? I can't tell.
I’m. No dr but I doubt taking doxy or any med is sin every day is a wise choice.
i think you need to find a new doctor. Maybe you have reflux.
Perhaps. But that would make seense doxycycline typically makes indigestion worse . He may have chronic post nasal drip or bronchiectasis
Hopefully he isn’t smoking anything
Another way to potentially diagnose reflux is excessive ear wax. Many people don't know this...
The ear wax is from allergies so is the the reflux... when I gave up dairy both went away. 60 % of all health issues are from what you eat.
There are several reasons for reflux...not just allergies. And whenever there is "excessive" ear wax, it's from reflux.
Wow I’m a physician and I’ve never heard of that
Do u know what Jacob’s Reflex is ?
I've had TIF surgery...lasted about four years before the reflux came back.
Jacob’s reflex is when you touch the inner portion of the middle ear and that stimulates the glossopharngeal nerve and you cough
Hmmm...never heard that one. When I looked it up, all I got was a procedure that looked similar to a TIF.
Some people take it daily for hydroadenitis suppurativa and acne. One week a month may do the trick - or say monocycline low dose extended release ???
Do try the nebulization of saline and peroxide with a couple drops of nascent iodine
Also you should mega dose vitamins 10,000iu D3 and 5000mg C along with methylated multivitamins
Let me know
