I went to my doctor for something or other a few years ago and remarked that my kids are sensible in the sun and also tan easily - probably due to the Indian heritage they have.
He's a good doctor in general but he told me to cover them up. He said "Even black people get skin cancer if they don't wear sunscreen"
I thought it was a bit over the top for dim dark England. I guess the doctors are primed to keep us out of the sunlight. I suspect people with dark skin are vitamin D deficient here if they follow this advice.
Probably why they banned them and told us all to slather in sunscreen. For this!
