Because they are desperate to get vaxxinating children, it's marketing and "Omicron" sounds scary to children and also sounds cool to be "fighting Omicron" by getting vaxxed.

They are going to make a strong push before Christmas and will continue after New Years.

What happens by mid February to March is any ones guess though.
