This is all just an scheme to launder money from working people, to the colleges, to the coffers of the college and other big wigs.
I paid my way thru college in the 2000s. Lots of folks say it can't be done – but that's just bullcrap. And all that was was for a paper for a resume that I'm not even using now. 🙄
The ENTIRE system needs an overhaul. I was talking to someone the other day that works for a university and he said they were having money issues... I don't believe that for one second.
Yeah, I think we need something more on the job like vs classroom, unless you're doing something highly specialized that's not changing.
I'm in IT and... nothing I learned in college helped me. I had a side biz thru college that I learned more thru that eventually got me my first job. I'd much rather hire someone just out of HS and train them in best practices and someone eager to learn than someone who spent four years partying thru college (there are great folks in college, too, don't get me wrong).
