Those are rapid tests, not true RT PCR, which needs a an instrument. Rapids aren’t as sensitive as a RT PCR.
RT PCR means that the testing amplicon is being monitored throughout the test. The curves are checked to see if there is a positive up to a certain cycle. Why? Well up to that certain point, the reagents used for testing runs out on that sample.
