I like to ask genuine questions to figure out where a person stands on things. Often red pill opportunities will present themselves while you are satisfying your own curiosity.

My findings: people have gut instincts that approach the truth, but on the conscious level, they are blind.

Once in a while, a long while, you'll run into someone who is awake. Those are fun conversions. Especially if you slowly build up to the realization you are face to face with a real, thinking human being.
