Recently received work emails that there is a Nat’l critical blood shortage ; especially both O neg and pos Says the shortages are expected to last until early summer. How can this be determined, I ponder. All Patient’s blood type is now visible in charting system.
Weird
I am O-Negative and have donated every time for decades... up until Jan. 2020 when this Covid crap started.
I am unvaxed and refuse to donate blood until the "Covid crisis" is over. They can forget it. The only exception is if an unvaxed person in Houston needs unvaxed blood... I will make a dedicated donation to that person.
While masks and mandates continue, they will not get a drop of my blood.
I'm O positive. But also Q positive.
Same
We are evolving deeper into tha alphabet.
Ditto. I get emails at least 3 times per week. I donated every 2 months through August of this year when they told me I had to wear a mask to donate. OSHA.
I left without donating and haven't since. Called and emailed them to let me know when the mask mandate is over and I will come back in.
I just know that I'm being especially careful these days, especially with my driving. I do NOT want to end up needing a transfusion now with so many people with polluted bloodstreams due to vaccines.
Blood types should all have a V or nonV added.
So true!!
Well, they’re not getting my pure universal dna plasma.
non-vaxxed blood is the next bitcoin.
I worked in bloodbanking for a career, there's also a fine line for marketing, I seem to remember there was an issue if we advertised a shortage if the word critical was used or not. During 9-11 so many people showed up to donate at one point all of the walk ins were full, and they were storing units on ice in picnic coolers in hallways, had to start turning away any type but O because there was so much they were just throwing it away, but blood has a forty day shelf life, and four months later they were having a shortage again. Blood pleas are typical during the holidays, regular donors are a very small portion of the population, and they might go in vacation, or just be too busy. We kept every one who had ever donated in a database, and could sort them by type because it was on file, and then mass mail, or call anyone in the community with the type we were low on.
Omg makes me sick to think they had to throw out someones blood 😭 I am sure it happens but oh my gosh liquid gold makes me think of spilt milk
They don't and can't tell you if it's vaxed blood or pure blood. No blood for me.
No one is going to break my skin, much less stick a huge needle directly into a vein. Don't spring a leak.
I'm 46, have had a few surgeries, but I honestly have no idea what my blood type is. :(
they have home kits, only a few bucks. found out mine from dog tags :)
Any blood/lab specialists that can comment on donated vaxxed blood? Does it clot more easily? Curious minds want to know!
I've seen several videos over the past 6 months saying and showing that vaxxed blood clots in a very weird, thick way. I cannot guess how real they were...but there is that.
How much are they paying for o- ?
Sorry no way jose no blood from me
