I have a feeling this "dark winter" that's been mentioned isn't meant for us, but for [them].

Hopefully, Maxwell is found guilty on all charges and "begins" to spill the beans. I have a feeling she's already begun and the recent news of her wanting to make a deal is meant to warn [them], and possibly comms to get someone to make an attempt on her life.
