Serious question: if someone wanted to return to God ie join a church or specific denomination community to rediscover one’s faith, are there any left that have not been completely hollowed out by corruption, wokeness, communism, satanism and all the other evil, degenerate belief systems of the world? The Amish still seem based. Curious about the Presbyterians. Asking for a friend.
I personally would go for an immaterial mix of Shintoism and Catholicism. I believe in the ideas and symbols. For me, Jesus is the living symbol of the ultimate sacrifice (this words means « sacred thing »), something that we cannot deny has to inspire us, lest we become godless apathetical sheeps.
Murphy, it has been my privilege to worship God in Christ with some wonderful Lutheran people of the LCMC (Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ). They are not fooling around. Bible based, sincerely welcoming and humble. I'm from another strain of Protestantism but I would seriously consider re-aligning my few differences to be a part of such a wholesome denomination. Whenever I go to visit, they always make me feel welcome. Be BLESSED!
As an organization I believe that the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod (LCMS) is what you are looking for, and, they tend to keep individual congregations on a short leash. The ELCS and Wisconsin Synod are probably NOT - they are VERY left-wing at the top, even if you happen to find an individual congregation that seems solid.
The Lutheran Church has 2 synods, one veered hard left and joined the Episcopalians in embracing in church lite, all the ceremony, none of God, aside from self. The other is the traditional Protestant Lutheran I grew up in.
