black licorice increases your blood pressure. I ate a lot of it at one time until my blood pressure was over 200 for about 3 months. We found out it was the licorice doing it and I stopped eating it and my blood pressure went back to normal.
The reason I know about it is because I love licorice and I a news piece last year about a man that died from eating too much black licorice caught my eye.
Sorry for the goofs, dear pedes. Surely someone else will post this but they'll do a better job of it. MERRY CHRISTMAS, frens! May we be HIS salt and light for this weary world.
LOL! Thank Heaven, I'm aware of no 'licorice mandate'... at this point. Bless you Swervish! Now I know why you never posted a licorice related Christmas Carol.
at this point everything but the vaccines curb the wuflu
But big pharma can't make big-bucks with candy, now can they?
Licorice root extract not the candy
Most "Licorice" is not licorice.
It is anise.
Worth noting. Thanks!

I almost died too... I dieted and licorice was my reward, the good authentic dark stuff. Low calories and high licorice spike = bad luck.
Interesting. You and I have a similar issue with licorice but maybe it can be useful to someone. THANKS for responding!
Too much licorice is a bad thing. Especially for people over 40.

Thanks, Dogsoldier2! [sigh] I never developed a taste for it but maybe it will be useful for someone.

I love it, have had to cut it out of my diet as well. 😢

Id rather have the rona than eat that nasty filth.

I drink Jägermeister and rarely get sick. I sip it on the rocks. Tastes like licorice.
We might disagree on Jagermeister but if you're from Texas, my hat is OFF to all of y'all! GOD BLESS TEXAS! May that great big state grow even BIGGER!
