The devil has done a good job infiltrating the major religious establishments, and many others he doesn't even need to get involved. Many mega churches are no church at all (think Joel Osteen), the Vatican, need I say more, Jerusalem. Many evil deeds have happened by many events, the devil has done his best work there/ those types of places. So many "Christians" believe in a Health/Wealth belief structure, SAD. "God wants you to be happy, God wants you to be rich, God wants you to be smart." What sauce do the preachers provide who proclaim this? Look at me, what God has done for this church, he wants you to have this same thing for yourself. I don't actually listen to foolish preaching like his, so I don't actually know what he preaches will give you these things, or what sauce they claim to bring to the table. But I've met many people in very reformed circles poisoned by this very same type of belief. For those who need to hear this truth. God wants you to share in an eternal reward in heaven, as joint heirs with Christ, he does NOT promise you wealth on earth, nor is wealth a status in God's eyes. For it is harder for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven than a camel to enter the eye of a needle. To the rich young man who kept all of these commandments since his youth. Go therefore, and sell all of your possessions, give to the poor, and follow me. The man went away sad, for he had many possessions. God wants you to be cleansed from all sin, and never have diseases, when you arrive in heaven, but consider my servant Job, Satan then inflicts him with serious disease, so that everyone around him tells him to curse God, yet he does not. God wants you to be smart/wise. God calls us to be wise, he does not promise college education, good grades in school, or even favor from our employers. In fact, should you suffer for the name of Christ, and not because you are a bad worker, your reward will be all the greater in heaven. There are so many lies spread in every religion to cause us to stumble, and rest assured, God's promises / threats to people who provide stumbling blocks... just know, that they have gotten [or will get] theirs [in due time]. No sin will go unpunished (very frightful if you truly consider the meaning). Let us then be workers of light and not of darkness.
The meaning of a rich man is a man rich in personality...ego...the kingdom of heaven is within you supposedly said the prince of peace...wasted on people who judge condemn others without examining the mote in their own eyes but say they are followers of a Jew they know never stopped being a Jew.
