Is this the Ds backup plan for when Biden gets indicted/loses his mind completely/dies somehow? Is it Hillary's last ditch effort to evade going to GITMO? Or is it the Deepstate crossing the final RED_LINE?

You're absolutely right and I don't trust any of the 535 members of congress to do anything.

The historical trend overall seems to be increasingly partisan. But, one would like to think that an issue as serious as accepting a selected Vice President would keep them on party lines.
