Every piece of clothing I have worn for the last 10+ years is from thrifting. I wear a lot of expensive clothes that I paid ~$5 for.

Thrift stores in resort areas will often have amazing deals! A friend of mine once bought an ~$175 winter coat for about $25, like new, at a store in Estes Park, CO.
