I work for the largest warehouse for my supermarket company on the east coast. Their rules are as follows. People who are vaxxed prior to Nov dont have to do anything. People vaxxed after Nov must provide their proof. Unvaxxed are gonna be subject to certain testing rules which have yet to be determined.
I already spoke to a handful of my coworkers and they are all in on a walkout.
Many of us are adamant we arent gonna be doing the tests because we aren’t hypochondriacs. And we know the tests show an insane number of false positives. Interested in any advice in what to do here.
If the walkout were to happen, to put into context, stores for PA, NJ, Delaware, and VA would all be affected. Not to mention the trucker strike which may happen come February.
They better hurry because the CDC put the end date for the tests at 12/31/2021.
Edited to Add: CDC Withdraws Use of PCR Test for COVID and Finally Admits the Test Can Not Differentiate Between the Flu and COVID Virus
Mologic test is coming. A partnership of Gates and Soros. Now you understand why they’re abandoning the PCR test.
Just a large way for them to swindle more money from us.
They have plenty of money, bet the reason is to kill instead.
Always thought the tests were a vector of concern., still do.
Good question.
Show them some stats on how it's the vaxxed that are the ones getting sick, more than the non-vaxxed.
My gf's family is suffering from mental illness. After telling them to leave us alone on the subject, her parents dropped off an at home test because 4 people tested positive after our Christmas activities. She took the test, it came out positive. I said "take the other test," because it comes with two. The package said do not take both tests within 4 days of each other. I couldn't wrap my head around why they wouldn't want you to take both..........
if you're not unionized, you still have collective bargaining rights and protections.
as vaccination status has proven to offer no guarantee of protection in the workplace, treating the vaccinated and unvaccinated as two classes of employees creates an arbitrary standard for classifying employees and amounts to an unfair labor practice.
two or more employees "have the right to act with co-workers to address work-related issues" https://www.nlrb.gov/about-nlrb/rights-we-protect/the-law/employees/concerted-activity
and Employers have a "duty to bargain" before implementing a new policy affecting conditions of employment. https://btlaw.com/insights/blogs/labor-relations/2021/potential-nlra-impacts-of-a-mandatory-covid-19-vaccination

What's the timing for this? They may be doing this because the OSHA ETS was pushed through, but the Supreme Court is hearing the case January 7th. If the SC stops the mandate, maybe they will back down?
My company has announced upcoming changes but also stated they are subject to how the OSHA ETS comes out. They're hoping they don't have to deal with any of it, and will only proceed with testing starting in February if the Supreme Court upholds the mandate.
Maybe it's the same for you?
Is this a private family-owned supermarket? Or part of a corporate chain?
If customers knew which supermarket, we can protest on our end with our words, mouths and dollars.
Corporate. I’ll only say it is german based.
Ok, I understand. I wish you well, my fren!
I wouldn't even fill out their religious exemption. Only about 5 of us out of 400 took this stance. I'm not complying with any of it. It sucks cuz this is a very good paying job. But enough is enough, it sucks more aren't on the same page. But at the end of the day all I control is my own choices.
