Kamala used to say she wasn’t black American.
Black Americans and Jamaicans don’t really mix well in the same culture. I’m Jamaica I know. I’ve been told I’m not black my whole life by black Americans.
I was in a cab with a driver from Africa, he said Obama isn’t African, why do Americans call him African it’s a psyop.
Sometimes I’m talking with a black American and I don’t understand certain things they ask me where I’m from. I’ll say the state or area, and they say no, which country were you born. Skin color wise we may look the same but concepts, lingo and so on…. It’s different. I also learned English in another so I make grammar when concept mistakes even though I have an American accent. It’s terrible at times.
No one in my family has black American friends, we’ve tried. Black American women don’t really date Caribbean or African men, so we end up with Asian, white or other immigrant.
Immigrating to this country and trying to fit in can suck some times. Wwg1wga
I don’t understand black American vernacular or slang AT ALL. I don’t understand this racism thing and why the division. It’s weird. They tried this division in Jamaica but we just became closer as all peoples of all colors.
This id what Bob marleys music was about. His dad was white.
You have a point. My wife is Zambian, and if you go to Zambia, you see whites and blacks and asians all mixing together without remark. It is the most accepting place I have visited (racially speaking).
In America you’ll have poor and working class blacks and whites blaming each other for their issues which are created by the government. It makes no sense.
Culture wise no.
