What they could have done behind the scenes is lessen years off of her sentence if she drops the dime on other people.

You would think that's what they would have done - gone after the people who actually sexually assaulted and harmed the victims using her testimony. That says a lot about who these people are. Unless there are things in motion behind the scenes we're unaware of yet, which is possible or even likely.
