Do you remember the made for TV movie about it in the 80’s? Craig T Nelson starred as Walsh.
You’re spot on about the helicopter parent thing. I saw this as a kid and it terrified me. My whole generation was more protective of their children than my parents were. The fence companies must’ve made a fortune in fencing in backyards.
My generation grew up afraid of the USSR. We had drills in school where we either hid under our desks or lined up in the hall sat down, put our head between our legs, clasped our hands over our heads--some praying we would never have to do this for real (I was one of them).
Amazing - when you step back #50,000 feet and look at everything in context…You come to the sad realization that everything we have been ‘sold’ ‘told’ or ‘taught’ was deception to protect these evil scum!

Was called "Adam"
Yes! The last line of the movie was Nelson screaming “They found Adam’s head!” Really made an impression on me.
