The question is fairly important and probably of increasing precedence. How would and or should humanity react to other sapient thinking life?
Let’s disregard the whole idea of Aliens/Space for the moment.
Think instead of the progress of genetics programs and the progress made in that field. How long till we get a Doctor Moreau wannabe or even sponsored attempt by any of the various less ethically inclined countries or companies attempting to uplift one or more Animal species into sapience/sentience? Suppose they succeed. Do we have license to kill what is now a sapient living creature because we maybe afraid of any potential religious connotations or dislike the circumstances surrounding it’s creation/Birth?
Let’s consider another possibility. What if the theories of the Cabal creating Human-Animal hybrids are true? Are these hybrids considered human? How should we respond to them? Euthanasia? Lock them away and throw away the key?
We’re likely going to continue running into frankly uncomfortable questions that we probably aren’t completely equipped to answer as technology keeps advancing. And as more truths are revealed.
Frankly we’re probably entering a time when technological development is outpacing philosophical and moral developments.
It’s something to keep in mind. We’re going to have to face these possibilities. Probably sooner rather then later. And all we can do really is pray for the Wisdom and ability to react in what will ultimately be the right way to any such eventualities.
We don't have to wait for alien visitors to grapple with this question. Koko the gorilla was taught deaf-and-dumb sign language and was able to converse fluently with her keepers. Deaf-and-dumb people were brought in to converse with her and came out saying she was perfectly intelligible. Koko had a child and taught it the language. (Koko also took a kitten as a pet and kept it with great tenderness.) It is a puzzle to me that few people are aware of this long-running experiment (Koko has passed away).
We are made in God's image. As part of that, we have a limited power to interact with His creatures and pass on that gift, as though passing on His light. Our fellowship with creatures expands the heart. We know this throughout our experience (dogs, cats, horses, dolphins, etc.). If we cannot appreciate what a divine mystery this is in our life on Earth, we will have no appreciation if it comes from Mars.
But, as NASA continues to have an empty holster, I do not expect any revelations. They are attempting to displace Christianity with Darwinism, and all their efforts at "finding life" are an attempt to find evidence that life---being found elsewhere---must have "evolved" to be there. One can sense NASA's desire to develop more space probes to "look for life," and to create public relations sympathetic to this goal. In my view, this whole effort should be scrapped as an irrelevant waste of time, talent, energy, and money. The only focus should be "boots on alien soil." If there is life, we will see it when we get there. But don't hold your breath. It would be more devastating for NASA if all they find is barrenness, and Earth is the only refuge of life.
A question I have is that we, as a species, are born into sinfulness due to the actions of our predecessors. However, since Jesus died on the cross for our sins, we as Children of God have a chance at salvation. Would our "Children of Man" also be born into sinfulness, and if so, would Jesus' death also pay the toll for them too?
As for the question of already existing species or rouge scientists, I find that my line of logic follows that of abortion, being that the uplifted is an innocent 3rd party that should be left to live. Short of experimental abominations that have no hope of living life independently, to stamp them out like pests would be an atrocity rivaling that of the worst genocides.
Finally, for the question of uplifting itself, Genesis 1:26 can be pretty easily contorted to allow for that kind of behavior from mankind. One could also assume that if an uplifted species has a soul, which people often conflate with sentience, that the soul's existence is an implicit rubberstamp from God. Of course, we run into the issue of distinguishing a philisophical zombie from a real, live, sentient being, but the simplest likelyhood is that it would either be dead in the test tube or living and breathing, not in that kind of grey area.
Minor edit and explanation for "implicit rubberstamp", the reason why I say that is because God could in all likelyhood refuse to bestow a hybrid-species we are trying to uplift a soul, thusly putting them less as "human", and more like smart dog/cat/whatever, which wouldn't fall under uplifted, in my eyes at least.
Personally, I find my issue one of the need and fulfillment of salvation by Jesus, but I might be looking at it completely wrong.
Brother, the Truth is often stranger than fiction. What many anons do not fathom--perhaps because of all the filth and misinformation on the internet--is that the Bible is REAL. It speaks the Truth. The Prophet Elijah dealt with this same issue--fighting satanic legions--long before us. There is God and there is Satan. Demons are spirits. They cannot inhabit the flesh--i.e., enter our dimension--without drinking human blood. Hence, the "aliens" (demons) require copious, ongoing quantities of blood to maintain a physical form. The CABAL drinks blood because they then receive the strength, power and temporal gifts granted by demons. We think we are so technologically sophisticated but it is all an illusion. The technology that most people worship today was seeded by these "aliens" and is being used to destroy us, first with nuclear weapons and now with the chip. Why so many hand held electronic devices? Don't you realize that it is this same tech that will be used to imprison people who accept the chip?
Hence, God prohibited the Israelites from drinking blood. When Moses went to the Mountain to receive the 10 Commandments, the Israelites left behind fell into fear. They immediately turned back to the Devil Worship that they learned when in Egypt. This involved demon worship (the golden calf which was made the demons), blood sacrifice likely of human beings, and orgies. God was so angry he destroyed them. It is no different today, only more elaborate and sophisticated to capture the masses. Keep it simple. God is real. Follow Him.
Disregarding Cabal/Blue Beam influences.
