I've always referred to politicians and bureaucrats (with a few exceptions) as parasites. They feed off the host population and give nothing of benefit in return to the host. All functions of govt. could be carried out at the local level without politicians or bureaucrats. ALL functions, and the things they stick their unwanted nose into like the medical and pharma industries, insurance, commerce, drugs, firearms. Even the military could be run better than it is now.
