THANKS FOR THE THOUGHT-PROVOKING ARTICLE! Sugar cravings are real and the symptom of a gut overloaded with yeast. This yeast feeds on the sugars and somehow tricks US into craving what IT wants. Sounds evil to me! Load up on good quality pro/ probiotics (not the crap stuff at Wallyworld), make your own kombucha, ferments, kefirs; Eat how Christ ate. Pray how He prayed. Watch your life CHANGE.
I throw my SCOBY out with each batch honestly. I imagine it ferments faster with the scoby as it creates a seal, but it works without the scoby either way.
I prob should too, but keep hoping I’ll find a fellow brew bro that wants some. You can keep a separate container going, too, and make your own vinegar.

I've been making my own kombucha for a while now, it does have quite a bit of sugar though but some of it ferments.
