Kazakhstan is on the east side of the Caspian Sea and Khazaria was on the west side wedged between the Caspian and Black Seas which offered control of trade between the Middle East and Asia at that time. Khazaria is present day SW Russia, Eastern Ukraine, the Caucasus countries, and likely bits of Turkey and Iran.
That article blew my mind and complements the Q plan to a T. The world today and geopolitics through history make perfect sense now connecting a lot of dots that I was aware of but did not realize how the whole puzzle fit together.
