As an American Indian, I thought the original name, Redskins, was great.
I don't watch the NFL but I had zero issue with the name of the team.
They have problem with the FSU Seminoles. The actual name of a tribe from the area, who have a mascot of a totally badass interpretation of a real person Chief Osceola.
I don't think it's about being offensive anymore... Seems like it's more about removing the idea of different cultures and backgrounds in favor of a homogenous cultureless society IMO. I'd be pissed at the idea of removing Indians as mascots if I was an American Indian.
I see it as an attempt to try and destroy any and all traditions in the US and replace them with 'woke' Commie BS.
A country is far more vulnerable when you replace its identity with Communist ideals.
I'm only 1/8th American Indian but have plenty of friends that are half or pure blooded. NONE of them were bothered by the name. Quite the opposite actually, especially given the history of how that team was named.
The change was made due to pressure from self-loathing, white leftists that wanted to ruin yet another aspect of American culture so they could pat one another on the back and talk about what good people they are.
White Leftists are doing their best to destroy this country and its traditions.
The vast majority of Indians have zero issues with the names of sports teams or school mascots but Pravda always manages to dig up the few Leftist Indians and trots them out as speaking for all Indians.
And don't forget, at 1/8th you are still exponentially more Indian than Fauxcahontus is!
Take care, Brother.
You as well, Grady :)
It would kick so much ass if a team of actual Indians started their own team with a name that included "Indian" or "Redskin" or whatever in it. Can you even imagine the meltdown? And nobody could say or do a damn thing about it.
