It's far more simple than that.

I taught patient care, including the proper use of a medical mask.

At best, a mask can only block a pathogen. (by blocking fluids and droplets the pathogen is contained within) It can only trap it. It can't kill it. This means that the mask MUST be removed carefully to avoid touching the face of the mask and the mask MUST be disposed of as medical waste. None of this is being done.
