I am so brainwashed that on a trip to SC I couldn't figure out why the toll booth to HHI was closed and the signs said "Keep going no toll." I figured it was Rona-related - too dangerous to take paper money. Or maybe labor shortage related. When I researched it to confirm I literally laughed out loud. Guess what it was??

The bond issued for the tollway had been completely paid for and under SC law they can't charge a toll once the road has been paid for. I have quizzed everyone from my home state of corruption, Illinois, and not a single person could fathom why the tolls would be closed. Even after I say "take off your Illinois hat and try again."
