If you want to make me NOT do something then the best way is to gaslight, browbeat, coerce, intimidate and shame me. The only way they could have ever succeeded was if they had shown good faith my being open and transparent and sitting down at the table to hash out a reasonable discussion like adults. I do not and will never play along with someone trying to manipulate me.
