I had purchased what I thought were surgical masks back in the summer. They are blue in color with horizontal pleats. The material is somewhat scratchy. Costco purchase, but I should have looked before buying, made in China. I later cut the masks apart and placed fibers from the material under our microscope. Dark black fibers that actually moved by themselves were easily detected. I believe certain manufacturers have placed graphene fibers in the masks as another means to contaminate the lungs, respiratory system. Needless to say, these were thrown out and I avoid masking to avoid the plague.
