I agree. At the end of the day, consent was involved. I don't like it, but it's not my business nor anyone's especially the government's if consent was involved.
I do believe adulthood should START at 13. By start I mean education should be tailored to what kids want to learn, kids should learn at least two or three skill trades by the time they graduate at 18. Also, sex laws need massive overhaul. What you bring up is a very important issue. An 18 or even 20 year old shouldn't have to register as a sex offender for having an SO as young as 15. As long as both parties are consenting, that is their business. No sex whatsoever until after you're 13 and even then it should be five year threshold until age 15 or 20 depending on what the society consensus is. By that I mean 19 y/o can't sleep w/ 13-15 y/o, but even those standards should be case by case cause again 15 is only a 4 year difference to 19. Bottom line, no I am not okay with 20 year gaps for teens, but our laws are still wrong in this regard.
Traditionally you were an adult at 13 and so also beer and wine should be introduced. It's how the European cultures do it while they still have a party culture, they are a lot less rowdy than our frat house culture... kids learn how to respect alcohol at a younger age. At 18 though, everything should be available. If you can fight and die for your country, you can smoke, drink and sleep around. 18 should be full adult status. None of this second class citizen bullshit until 21.
