The idea the government consecrates a marriage should become a thing of the past. Even the idea we need a license from our government to get married should cease to exist.

What the government really does is register a contract that serves a legal purpose years later in the event of divorce or death. We should all come to grips with that truth and stop calling a slip of paper issued by government marriage.

A marriage is consecrated by God, never by government.
