What did you think the national guard was supposed to do in hospitals? For instance as that minnesota news (that was posted and stickied here) stated, "The Minnesota National Guard is not alone in stepping up to the challenge of responding to the pandemic. According to the National Conference of State Legislatures, all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam and the U.S. Virgin Islands have activated National Guard forces to assist in the battle against the pandemic".
So there you go, the national guard was activated to help with the shortage of staff we have been hearing about. This was explicitly stated.
Yeah that's what the national guard is for - for emergencies, and they don't charge for it lol.
And I mean "free labor" is a bit cheeky of a definition since they're paid with money from your taxes. The people who are helped by the national guard aren't receiving the gift of free labor - they're getting their money's worth back for once.
Is it really an emergency when it’s the predictable outcome of a self imposed regulation? It could very easily be ended by changing the rule back. Right now it’s state sponsored welfare.
