Polio was rebranded to Acute Flaccid Myelitis and easily misdiagnosed as Enteroviruses (polio and non-polio), West Nile Virus, Japanese encephalitis virus, Saint Louis encephalitis, Cytomegalovirus, Epstein-Barr virus, and Adenovirus infections. https://www.doh.wa.gov/Portals/1/Documents/5100/420-068-Guideline-PolioAFM.pdf
