If you’re talking about the FED’s total assets increasing, it’s due to quantitative easing. They’ve been printing money and pumping it into the stock market, at a rate of about $50B a month, if I’m not mistaken.
So the FED is essentially buying up a bunch of stock and other assets to prop up the “economy”. However, you can only do so much with Monopoly money, and we’re really starting to see the effects of this. It’s gonna get ugly REAL QUICK at Wall St, and then it’ll hit the rest of us in more ways than we can imagine.
Maybe you can tell me what this chart just released by the Federal Reserve means? It looks weird to me.
