No wonder. The Matrix goes beyond a metaphor for modern life: it is literally an accurate depiction of modern life. We are all slaves in a system, and all roads (such as the established banking system, for one) lead back to the creators and operators of said system; the same group of people you and everyone else is knee-jerk conditioned over the course of their whole lives to come to the defense/aid of, as you demonstrated earlier. If you believe the media lies have been going on for a long, long time, look at what else they say is true and infer they are lying about that as well.
