Not a fan of this. The State shouldn't be making medical treatment decisions. The doctor and patient should be. Letting a prescription drug be sold to someone who hasn't been evaluated by a healthcare provider who's trained and licensed in diagnosis (pharmacists get the literal bare ass minimum of that, only enough to do OTC consults and know when to refer in their standard training), is dangerous. The system works this way for a reason. Differential diagnosis to figure out what you're actually sick with isn't easy.
If they want to discuss whether the drug is safe enough to be sold OTC or behind the counter, I have no issue with that. I think far too many safe Rx drugs probably should be made more accessible. We see the FDA do that from time to time. Ivermectin is a very safe drug honestly, and the only real reason to keep it Rx is to ensure the patient gets properly diagnosed so the drug is given only when they have an infection the drug will treat (this is an antimicrobial stewardship/protection argument).
For a state legislature to just overrule all of that out of desperation and a desire to say "Let's Go Brandon" is a bad idea. We don't need lawyers and politicians playing doctor. We don't need people self-medicating with an anti-parasitic for every cold or sniffle they get.
Newsweek has completely misrepresented the bill. The actual language of the bill allows for standing prescriptions to be filled. There is no bill or proposition of which I’m aware that would force any medication to be available without a prescription in NH.

What makes them the experts on medicine now? I don't trust them and this issue is a prime reason.
Most countries you go to the pharmacist gor a prescription. At least the 5 I've lived in did it that way.
They won't be getting colds and sniffles. This shit is prophylactic. It's meant to be used as a vaccine.
