The soul controls the mind. The soul, however, has protection around it, but the person can cause the protection to be breached, as when taking certain mind-altering substances, like drugs or alcohol. This is why the Bible is so against drunkenness. The doors to the soul are opened, and bad behavior can result. Bad thinking, too. Addiction. The soul is in great peril from addiction.
