Why was Christ chosen out of the people? Speak, my heart, for heart-thoughts are best. Was it not that He might be able to be our brother, in the blest tie of kindred blood? Oh, what relationship there is between Christ and the believer! The believer can say, "I have a Brother in heaven; I may be poor, but I have a Brother who is rich, and is a King, and will He suffer me to want while He is on His throne? Oh, no! He loves me; He is my Brother." Believer, wear this blessed thought, like a necklace of diamonds, around the neck of thy memory; put it, as a golden ring, on the finger of recollection, and use it as the King's own seal, stamping the petitions of thy faith with confidence of success. He is a brother born for adversity, treat Him as such.
Christ was also chosen out of the people that He might know our wants and sympathize with us. "He was tempted in all points like as we are, yet without sin." In all our sorrows we have His sympathy. Temptation, pain, disappointment, weakness, weariness, poverty-He knows them all, for He has felt all. Remember this, Christian, and let it comfort thee. However difficult and painful thy road, it is marked by the footsteps of thy Saviour; and even when thou reachest the dark valley of the shadow of death, and the deep waters of the swelling Jordan, thou wilt find His footprints there. In all places whithersoever we go, He has been our forerunner; each burden we have to carry, has once been laid on the shoulders of Immanuel.
"His way was much rougher and darker than mine
Did Christ, my Lord, suffer, and shall I repine?"
Take courage! Royal feet have left a blood-red track upon the road, and
consecrated the thorny path for ever.
Charles Haddon Spurgeon
I recently had an epiphany about The Christ: The Heavenly Father we know, His firstborn Son Jehovah created all things and inspired the prophets of old. His Firstborn Son took on human flesh: The Christ who, at Gethsemane and Golgotha, fulfilled those prophesies and made ALL things new.
Hebrews 2:14
King James Version
14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
Amen
That is not supported by the Bible.
Jesus Christ is not God. He is the Son of God.
God is spirit and no man hath seen Him at any time.
There are many more verses that tell us who God is and who His Son is.
The incarnate Son of God was truly and fully man and truly and fully God. ... John writes:
1 John 5:20
King James Version
20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.
Add to that the reference Revelation 21:6-7 ""’I am the Alpha and the Omega,' says the Lord God, 'who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty" (Revelation 1:8). "He said to me, 'It is done.
1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2The same was in the beginning with God. 3All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
11And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. 12His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. 13And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
To presume to know the full extent of the powers of God without considering the triune of the Father, The Son and the Holy Spirit-all One and the Christ intercedes with the Father and the Holy Spirit acts as the Voice of God, is the struggle I had for a long time. My post above is my solution for with ALL things God can do wonders.
Of course Christ could still the waters, bring back the dead AND feed the 1,000s; He IS the Creator..
386 AD, Niceness creed. Not one mention of the trinity before then historically or in the Bible. It's all Babylonian.
Even Jesus says things that mean that he is definitely not God.
Such as not by my will Father, but let it be yours"
Indicating that Jesus and God have separate wills
"No one knows except the father, not even the son"
Loads of things like that. And. Things that indicate a hierarchy that God above himself.
He never says "I am God"
Note that Jesus was the example and the ransom for missing the mark. We are to be Christ like but can be forgiven if we mess up. At the time it was written that Man was God, and claiming to be the Son of God would be claiming to be the Son of Man it works in reverse as well. "Is it not written that ye are Gods"
Jesus was also said to have been given Judgement from the Father, which he returns to the Father, who will return it to Jesus. Cyclical, imo anyway.
All great except one thing; Jesus Christ was Not chosen out of men, He is the Son of God sent to be born of a woman to live and die among men as a Holy and Pure sacrifice in our behalf, to bring about the Glory of God by reaching and teaching about the Father in Heaven , healing and bringing Grace and Mercy and leading others that they might share the gospel and bring about Salvation through Faith in Him.
Psalm 89:19 is about David, not jesus
You are correct, it is about David (whose bloodline Jesus came out of

Yes, I am on some things, but totally list on this….
Peter Harrison (2016) has suggested that the first reference to angels dancing on a needle's point occurs in an expository work by the English divine (minister), William Sclater (1575–1626). In An exposition with notes upon the first Epistle to the Thessalonians (1619), Sclater claimed that scholastic philosophers occupied themselves with such pointless questions as whether angels "did occupie a place; and so, whether many might be in one place at one time; and how many might sit on a Needles point; and six hundred such like needlesse points." Harrison proposes that the reason an English writer first introduced the "needle’s point" into a critique of medieval angelology is that it makes for a pun on "needless point"

...I was attempting to disagree politely with your assertion, implying that your distinction was a "needless point"...
,,,I am sorry if I over estimated your capacity to fathom such esoteric "gestures"...
...the fact remains, if we both agree that Jesus is the "Son of God", born of a virgin, was sacrificed for our sins and rose again bodily on the third day and now resides on the right hand of God serving as our "intercessor"...
...then, assuming that we agree, and, with the aid of these agreed upon truths, you have rendered your own point "needless"....

You can never go wrong w/ a quote from Spurgeon! ☺️
...the "Prince of Preachers" voice is needed now more than ever....
He whispers thought to us every day that only our hearts can hear.
Amen
...the world is noisy, and God whispers....
Christ wwas promised. He did have to by free will obey God same as we and he did it perfectly. Many do not realize that Jesus could have said no.
The reason Mary was the one to receive the promise lay in her responses to Gabriel when he told her she would be having a child before even having sex. She said "behold the servant (doulos) of the lord" and "be it unto me according to thy word". She simply believed the promise of genesis 3:15 and she became the mother of God's promise to redeem man from the death Adam's disobedience visited upon us.
Also, look at the word "called" a bit more closely, Man is invited to receive the gift of holy spirit and must By free will receive it. The Greek word is kleesis and means to be invited. We get invited and we accept. Every person on earth gets that invite. Many are called but few are "chosen" few accept.
Many does not equal all, and to be chosen there is more than accepting, there is submitting.
Works are hugely important, in fact that is what we are judged by, and Jesus himself, not Paul or any other apostles had even said that "No one can call them selves my disciple unless they have cast off all they own. Given the context of the rest of his teaching, not Paul's teaching, but Jesus we can say that this was a literal ultimatum, not some meaningless saying that people dismiss it as.
So very very few will actually be chosen. Most of the church is not, but whether out of greed or simple submission they work for Mammon.
Believe it or not, Jesus is the only messages that God sent, and the only one with God's message. It seems criminal to me that everything he says is dismelissed by Christians as some poetic expression instead of taking it literal. If God sends a messenger, listen to that messenger, not someone else
So as the church lives in the world believing they are saved by their faith, they are not. Literally very few people have been saved.
The meek shall inherit the earth. Not easy, being meek.
What if the last trump, was a boomerang 🙃
speaking of the 'trump', listen to what JFK Jr. reads, starting at 7:01😊

Jesus was slain from the foundation of the world. Talk about a PLAN! God made this Plan to redeem man from sin. He knew and planned this before He created the Earth because He knows the future. He came into the world and the only part of His creation that did not recognize Him was man. The storms obeyed Him as did all of nature. The greatest story ever told for sure!
Amen
That verse that is posted is about David, not Jesus.
David was called out of the people.

Exactly!! It becomes clearer when you read the verses which follow it:
19 Then thou spakest in vision to thy holy one, and saidst, I have laid help upon one that is mighty; I have exalted one chosen out of the people. 20 I have found David my servant; with my holy oil have I anointed him: 21 With whom my hand shall be established: mine arm also shall strengthen him.
God bless you!

Love me some Spurgeon!
Thank you, ashlanddog.
God bless you for keeping his memory alive...
...one never truly dies until he is forgotten....
Prince of Preachers.
Thank you. I needed this message and didn't even realize it.
Some Christians believe the Jews were "chosen" only because they were the most intolerably misguided and in need of correction by God to end the validity of their claims and guide them away from damnation and towards the One True Path to Salvation.
Thankfully, Jesus Christ was able to save a handful of Jews.
Jesus Christ wasn't in the slightest bit interested in reforming Judaism - not a single jot or dot of it. He was here to end Judaism and tell the Jews to, "Cut that shit out!".
Sadly, the Jews had Jesus Christ tortured and crucified as they demanded Hit blood be upon them and their children and mocked Him as He bled out on the cross.
This theory seems reasonable when you look at the divergent paths the Jews and the Christians took throughout history: Christians went on to be inspired by the true teachings of God and His New Covenant, to bless and reshape the world with gifts of philosophy, science, art, culture, agriculture, architecture, medicine, governance and a respect for God given rights (age of enlightenment, industrial revolution, space age, information age) ... whereas the Jews arguably when on to worship shekels and definitively become the most hated and exiled people in human history.
I think there's a lesson in that.
...a lot of stuff to "unpack" there...
...something happened in Babylon, the "Hebrews" entered in and the "Jews" returned back to "Holy Land"....
There are some interesting theories and research suggesting something similar happened to Moses on Mount Sinai. A Hebrew went to the mountain and a deceitful Jew returned. Rand Flem-Ath has done some interesting research about this... research that some people don't want to hear.
God bless you Patriot....
