The split in the Holy Roman Church was not the beginning of the Papacy (i.e. the God-Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire who rules by Divine Decree). You can argue all you want about the split that created what people call "Catholicism" but the truth is, its the same shit, different name.
Here's a start to understanding what the entire religion is, along with the origins of the Trinity which caused the split into two different Catholic Churches (by different names).

The Emperor Constantine has NOTHING to do with Catholicism, which only sprang into being after the schism of 1054 following the Filioque controversy.
