#1 The truckers involved in the convoy are independent owners / operators - their bosses are themselves. The vax mandate affects the border crossing trucks. Your local Safeway truck driver is not a part of this. Neither are the guys who deliver the fuel to the gas stations.
#2. The "Canadian Trucker Alliance' firstly is not a union. Second they represent at MOST 20% of all licensed Class 1 and Class 3 ( big rigs dump trucks / garbage ) drivers across the entire country. These drivers work for already unionized companies.
The 'Canadian Trucking Alliance' has next to zero input in actual trucking across Canada. There is no national truckers union in Canada.
My wife drives ( and has a LOT of driver friends ) and my Grandfather helped start the trucking industry in my area of the province I live in. Just if you wanted to wonder how I know.
The union leaders are on the take and don't represent their members.
Unions lived out their usefulness a long time ago.
Always has been.
