Just be aware that the New York State Supreme Court is actually a lower court, and this will probably end up being decided the a Court of Appeals. Still good progress though!
This is incorrect. The ruling was made in Nassau County Supreme Court. As it directly conflicts with a recent decision made in Albany County Supreme Court, the Attorney General's office has filed an appeal with NYS Apellate Court, which puts a stay on the decision for the time being.
