Perhaps we should also talk about knee-jerk policy-making that does not investigate the limitations of a glossy presentation full of graphs that are essentially just mathematical projections into dystopic futures? Worst-case scenarios, not reality. No-one asks "How likely is it for this to be a real case?". Unfortunately politicians do not take courses in statistics, so just accept any narrative as go-time.
