Unfortunately everyone will just have to take the word of whoever convicts and executes her to know if it actually happened or not. Even DJT and anyone else in government that people have trust in have kept lots of information from the public and will always do that.
Even the beloved DJT, General Flynn, and all of them really, they all believe they know what is best for everyone else and will always have the luxury of deciding what the general public is told about and not told about. If some of the expected executions are not public executions then many will never believe it actually happened.
Society has become so weak, so soft, so fragile that those in power do not believe the public could mentally and emotionally handle a public execution. What is unfortunate is that it's probably true. If it actually happens and people don't want to see it then perhap those people should be reminded or maybe even shown evidence of the crimes these people will be guilty of.
There are some people too dangerous to be locked away for life because of their power and influence. Some people would be able to have great influence even from a prison cell so there are some that the only good punishment for would be death. Many things have happened because society got complacent and only focused on their own little personal world.
I think there’s a lot of medievalism left in all of us. Many parts of the world have no problem with public executions. These could be made palatable to Western sensibilities, as you say, by making it about justice - show irrefutable evidence of the crimes they committed, and the punishment matches the crime.
I personally don't care for violence anymore but there is a time and place for everything. There's also a difference between regular violence and justice being served. If someone tried to tresspass on my property and/or steal ro break into my home, they'd get some bullets for their trouble but I'd never go looking for trouble.
When she hangs, we need people holding signs stating, "What difference at this point does it make?".
