Arizona, Utah, Wyoming, and Hawaii are the only states that require the governor to choose someone from the resigning (or indicted) Senator’s party. In most other states, including Virginia, the governor appoints a temporary replacement to serve until the special election can be held. In most states, the governor appoints anyone he wants, generally from his own party.
False premise is that a Republican governor can replace a Dem with a Rep. Certainly not true in Arizona.
Yeah; I figured someone could point out a flaw.
I guess; military the only way. Must we not forget.
It's actually a rule I can get behind, that he has to appoint from the same party. Otherwise it would soon turn into tyranny.
I mean Flynn is/was a D right? Just appoint a great one that will hold the line :p
Though how to know which ones can be trusted?

TY. I still think we have the better way. This applies to the Reps too.
