I thought Pompeo was an excellent diplomat as Secretary of State and it fits him better than the role of Vice President who usually spend their time on domestic affairs and internal politics.

Though he could be a good President to succeed Trump as he is quite the talented diplomat, somewhat in the same vein as Nixon in my opinion.
