From a 18th century perspective, I would totally agree with you.
However, EU is not totally clean of Chinese infiltration.
There are many containers from CCP going through the ports of Rotterdam, Portsmouth, Le Havre, Bordeaux, etc. And enough are en route.
The buying spree these CCP types are on, may expose some vulnerabilities the EU has not thought about before.
